Sunday, June 26, 2005 - Vernon H. Gann, 76, of Graham died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Graham Oaks Care Center in Graham. Graveside services were scheduled Saturday, June 25, at Veal Creek Cemetery in Stephens County with Pastor Carroll Smith of the Lakeside Church of God officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mr. Gann was born May 30, 1929, to the late Smith M. and Zelma M. (Martin) Gann in South Bend. He married Maudie Creager on March 18, 1977, in Graham. Mr. Gann was a longtime resident of Young County, a retired oilwell driller and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maudie Gann of Graham; four daughters, L. Lynelle Casteel of Graham, Teresa Martin of Birmingham, Ala., Donna Robertson of Waco and Kathy Swink of Fort Smith, Ark.; four brothers, Monroe Gann of Seattle, Wash., Raymond Gann of Decatur, Floyd Gann of Kansas City, Kan. and David Gann of Graham; two sisters, Joyce Smith and Anna Jewell Goez both of Fort Worth. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
