Carol was born July 1, 1926, at home east of Blue Springs, in Gage County, Nebraska, to Robin and Gertrude (Fauver) Brubaker.

Carol attended District 67 Valley Center Grade School and Holmesville Consolidated High School, graduating May 1944.

On Nov. 8, 1946, she married Calvin Wiebe. Carol and Calvin were blessed with three children: Sue Ann, Nancy Lou, and Clinton Don.

Carol's first job was at Ernest and Frieda Wiebe's drug store in Beatrice in 1944, and then Wright Drug Store through 1946.

After Calvin's death on Nov. 19, 1959, she worked at Gage County Dept. of Roads, at Culligan, then as a retail clerk at Bauer Shoes, Woolworth, and Wells Pharmacy. She enjoyed her coworkers and working with the public.

Carol lived in Gage County, NE her entire life except for 6 months in Kearney, NE. Her last 8 years, she enjoyed living at Homestead Village in Beatrice.

Carol was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice and a former member of the Beatrice Mennonite Church.

Carol Ruth (Brubaker) Wiebe, 88, of Beatrice, passed away at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center after a short illness on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, her son, Clint, her son-in-law, Jim Rikli, her parents, three brothers, Clark, Mark, and Ray Brubaker, and one sister, Opal Bainbridge.

Left with memories are two daughters: Sue Rikli of Kearney, NE, and Nancy (Jim) Barbour of Morris, Minn.; one daughter-in-law, Marci (Art) Rost of Lincoln; three grandchildren: Chris (Megan) Rikli of Lincoln, Nancy (Rock) Stahla of Grand Island, and Sarah (Walter) Green of Gretna; five great-grandchildren: Lydia Stahla, Grant Stahla, Maci, Moriah, and Amelia Green; one sister, Beth (Bud) Gross, Gibbon. She also valued her life-time friends and neighbors.

The body will lie in state Friday from 2-8 pm and Saturday from 9 am - 2:30 pm at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, Nebraska, with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, April 4, at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice. Interment will be in the First Mennonite Cemetery.
