MORRELL CO. EMPLOYE 31 YEARS DIES

Robert Pirtle, 57, died at his home, 517 Chester avenue, today at 4:30 a.m.

He was the son of James D. and Caroline Pirtle and was born in Davis county August 20, 1880. For the last 31 years he had been employed at John Morrell & Co., working as a timekeeper for the last 25 years.

Surviving are his wife, Olaf; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Schluntz of Keystone, Iowa, and Mildred, at home; a son, Robert Pirtle Jr., at home; two grandchildren, Murray Pirtle of Ottumwa and Mary Jo Pirtle of Lovilia; one sister, Mrs. Charles Marshall of Inglewood, Colo., and a brother, J.M. Pirtle of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in 1914 and by a son, Delbert, in November, 1937.

Services will be at the home, 517 Chester avenue, Thursday at 2 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m. at the Wesley Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by the Rev. R.W. Swick. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.

The body will be at Johnson's funeral chapel until noon Wednesday.
