On 28 Jan 1896, James Oliver Agnor, 30, born in Lexington, Virginia, the son of W C and Mary Agnor, married Sarah Ann McSarley, 30, the daughter of Edmund and Catherine McSarley, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Transcribed on Familysearch, p 1-14.

On the 1900 Lynchburg, Campbell Co., VA census, I found bar keeper Jas O Agnor, 31, Jul 1868; Sarah Agnor, 31, Sep 1868 and John Agnor, 2, Jun 1897, all VA born.

J. O. Agnor was born 2 Jul 1868 in Virginia to parents Wm C Agnor and M E Nicely. He was married and worked for the railroad. On 16 Feb 1913, he died in Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA. W T Agnor was the informant. VA Cert. of Death #4593. It was filed on 17 Feb 1913. The 1912 marker death year is incorrect.

James "Oliver" Agnor was also listed on widow Sarah McSorley Agnor's 27 Apr 1936 Roanoke, Virginia Death Certificate and her funeral home record.

"Mr. J Oliver Agnor Dead. Mr. J. Oliver Agnor died Sunday morning, February 16, 1913, at the home of his father, Mr. William C. Agnor at Zollman, after an illness of some time with an affection of the lungs. He was aged 44 years. Fifteen years ago he married Miss Sadie McSardey of Lynchburg, and removed to Roanoke where he held a position for twelve years with the Norfolk and Western Railway Company. Surviving are his wife and one son, John Agnor; also his father, five brothers and one sister; Messrs. Alfred C. Agnor of Buena Vista, W. T. Agnor of East Lexington, A. Houston, Wood A. and Penny Agnor of Buffalo and Mrs. J. H. Christie of Washington City. The funeral was held from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lexington Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Father Harry of Straunton, followed by Interment in Lexington cemetery."
