Albert May Dikeman was the daughter of
Father John William Short
Mother Martha Sample Short Bird
Sisters Millicent Bird Rice
Vivian Short Daley
Evelyn McCall Bird Balfour Our parents adopted her.

Alberta died from a heart attack and diabetes and most of her children had diabetes

Alberta had a hard life they lived in box cars, had to carry water.They had an outhouse toilet. She had a yard full of chicken and we would come to visit she would have to go out in the yard & catch her a chicken bring it in take the feathers off & fry it for us. I also remember when she did the wash, she stacked a table full of Jeans for the boys & they would go pull their jeans from the pile.
Her last baby was stillborn, and I got all the clothes my mother made for this baby that was born in 1954, my baby was born Jan. 12, 1955.
My sister was such a caring loving person loved by many.
