Ron was born November 23, 1948 in Sterling, Illinois to Horace and Veronica (Rajnowski) Royal.
Ron grew up and attended school in Anoka, Minnesota before the family moved to Dilworth, Minnesota in 1962, where he graduated from Dilworth High School in 1966.
Ron married Lynette Romsland in Fargo, June 1, 1968 and enlisted in the Army in 1968 with a 13 month tour in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1971. Ron and Lynette made their home in Fargo where they raised their two children, Jeffrey and Jenni. Ron owned and operated his own collection agency before switching careers. He worked 20 plus years with Shade Tree Service Company and Wright Tree Service Company trimming trees in the power lines for NSP/Xcel Energy until his early retirement in 2008.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors and spending time down at the lake, where he would always have a bonfire burning. He also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
Ron was an avid sports fanatic. He especially liked watching the Bison, the Vikings, and Nascar. Ron and Lynette enjoyed taking their yearly trips to Mexico and Jamaica with their friends Terry & Kathy. Jamaica was Ron’s favorite.
Ron loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He will forever be in our hearts.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; his parents, his brother, Robert and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Linda Romsland.
