Floyd “Winkey” Brown, 79, of Interlachen, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Kindred Hospital North Florida in Green Cove Springs. Mr. Brown was a native of Paducah, KY and had been a resident of Interlachen since 1986 coming from Columbus, OH. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served six years some of which were in Germany. He retired from AT & T, in Columbus, OH, in 1986 as a Layout Operator following 31 years of service. He was a member of Melrose Masonic Lodge #89 in Melrose, Fraternal order of Eagles, #3822, Interlachen, Fleet Reserve, #183, Interlachen, Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #184, Palatka and AMVETS Post #86 in Keystone Heights. He enjoyed traveling, especially by R.V., riding motorcycles and playing golf. He liked auto racing and had built several race cars through the years. He had painted many cars and trucks. He was a very social person who loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James David and Milesse Garnett Brown

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Martha Hodges Brown of Interlachen; a son and daughter-in-law, Micheal and Diane Brown of East Palatka, four brothers and sisters-in-law, W D “Hawkeye” and Mary Brown of Interlachen, Jerry and Joyce Ann Brown of Paducah, KY, Charles and Maria Brown of Smithland, KY and Franklin Brown and companion, Angie of Paducah, KY; a grandson, Justin Brown; two great grandchildren, Chloe Brown and Gavin Brown all of Etna, OH; and many nieces and nephews,

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka with Pastor Mike Stanley officiating with Masonic services bestowed by Masonic Lodge #89. In honor and celebration of Mr. Brown’s life a video tribute will be shown during the service. Interment will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed by the U. S. Army. The family will receive friends Monday, April 6, 2015 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
