Ptomaine Poisoning Causes Death Of Mariposa Laborer
MERCED, July 15 - The body of Wilfred Romeo Lariviere, 29, state highway department employe, who died in Mariposa this afternoon from ptomaine poisoning, arrived at the Welch and Griffin Funeral Parlor here tonight. Lariviere became ill three days ago after having eaten canned spinach. He was a native of North Dakota and had lived in California for the last eight years, the last two of which he had spent driving a tractor for the state. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Sadie Lariviere, two children, Fred and Agnes, four brothers and one sister living in the East. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Last Rites To-day For Poison Victim
MERCED, July 20 - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning for Wilfred R. Laridiere [sic], 29, Mariposa tractor operator, who died last Friday morning from ptomaine poisoning after eating canned spinach. Services will be in charge of the Welch and Griffin funeral parlors in Merced, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
