N. Miller Anderson Sr., 75, a member of the Klamath Tribes, died Dec.21, 2005, at his residence in Klamath Falls.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Klamath Assembly of God. A second service will follow at Beatty Valley Gospel church with concluding graveside services at Mausenkesket Cemetery. They will be followed by lunch in the Beatty Community Center. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd.

Mr. Anderson was born June 8, 1930, in Beatty to Oscar Tildon Anderson and the former Elva George.

He was raised in Beatty.

For many years, one of his favorite activities was going with his brothers to the high country, cutting Christmas trees there, and selling them in the San Francisco Bay area.

He and his brothers always ran several hundred head of horses on the family ranch in Beatty.

In his younger years, he spent a couple of summers in the desert running wild horses and also at the Ora Summers ranch on the Klamath Marshhaying and running horses.

Mr. Anderson competed in rodeos and, with his brothers George and Junior and other local cowboys, put on the Beatty Rodeo at the Anderson ranch. They later moved the rodeo to Klamath Falls and started the All-Indian Rodeo, which was an annual event for many years.

He was a gold card member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

During his rodeo career, he roped in front of the Queen of England atthe Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He roped at every major rodeo in the nation.

Mr. Anderson worked as a wrangler on the movie ?Bus Stop? and met oneof its stars, Marilyn Monroe. But he said the Hollywood life wasn't for him; he was happiest at home ranching, hunting, and being with family members and friends.

He attended the Beatty Assembly of God Church and, after moving to Klamath Falls, the Klamath Full Gospel Church. He also traveled with hisfamily to attend Indian church services, camp meetings and revivals throughout the western states.

He was a singer, preacher and devoted servant of the Lord and also supported many organizations and churches in the nation.

In addition, Mr. Anderson was involved in his tribal community and promoted the growth of services to tribal members.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon M. Anderson of Klamath Falls; children, Norman Miller Anderson Jr., Robert Wayne Anderson and Deborah, and Leslie Anderson of Klamath Falls, and Herman Anderson and Deb of Beatty; sister, Norma Gallagher of Astoria; grandchildren, Red Eagle Anderson, Rachel Moon Anderson, Norma Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Tobby Two Feathers Anderson, Tammy Anderson, Eddy Anderson, Sarah Anderson, John Anderson, Wyatt Anderson, Skilar Anderson, Little Kinley Anderson and Norma Lou Anderson; special grandchildren, Angie Pool, Annie Wilson and Monica Wilson; and nieces and nephews, Conchita Duplechain, Debbie Herrera, Lu Ann Anderson, Laurie Jo Lehman, Lea Wonser, Melissa Matthews, Jodean Bryant, Oskie Yasana, Rena Anderson, Sheila Kirk, Ronald Sherman, Fernando Herrera, Lynn Schonchin, Dean McLeod, Jimmy Riddle and Richard Anderson.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Alveda Wahl and Anna Sherman; brothers, James Anderson, O.T. Anderson Jr. and George Anderson; and son, Kinley Anderson.
