Born at Mountain Dell Township, a daughter of Mary Ardillacy Gibson and William Jr. Isom. She was adopted by, or lived as a daughter with her husband's maternal grandparents for a time. They were Frances Fitzjohn Chapman and William Jefferies Barnes. Katherine went by the name of Isom and Barnes and was sealed to both sets of "parents". She married Horace Robert Bloxham 18 September 1905 at Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho.

Mother of fifteen children, including two sets of twin boys, all four of whom died at birth.
