HOUSTON, Richard "Dick," age 89 of Elora, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center. He was retired from the Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. Mr. Houston was born Oct. 8, 1917 in Estill Fork, Ala., the son of the late Robert "Bob" Houston and Ida Brewer Houston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Hensley Houston, son, Bobby Joe Houston, brothers, Ambrose Houston and George Houston, sister, Bonnie Kindred and grandchildren, Charles "Roger" Houston, Jr. and infant, Janice Houston. Mr. Houston is survived by his son, Charles (Carolyn) Houston of Estill Springs; daughter, Barbara (John) Brannon of Elora; sister, Pauline Brannon of Elora; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgranddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family was held Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. A graveside service followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Market, Ala. with Rev. Charles Houston officiating.
