Published in the CLINTON EYE, Clinton Missouri, Apr 9 1904 - Mrs. S. M. Buckingham, one of Clinton's pioneer mothers, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. G. Sherman, on Wednesday morning in the 87th year of her age. She came to Clinton in 1867 and was loved by a large circle of acquaintances. She was a member of the M. E. Church. Her beloved husband preceded her to that better world a number of years ago. They had nine children, seven living: Ben Buckingham and Mrs. A. G. Sherman, Clinton; John F. Buckingham, Boonville; Mrs. Clara Kreamer, Arkansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Anna Condit, Fredonia, Kas; William Buckingham, Austin, Texas and Mrs. F. B. Scott. Funeral services were held at the residence of A. G. Sherman, 411 East Green and burial was in Englewood.
She was the mother of nine children.
