Funeral services for Joe Alexander Ardell 61, of
Everett were held today at Purdy-Dawson
Funeral Home, Snohomish. Burial was in
Abbey View. He died Monday, July 15,
1968 at his home.
Mr. Ardell, born in Council Bluffs, Iowa,
came to Seattle in 1931 changing his last name from Abel to Ardell. He was a retired Cattle salesman.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; his older sister Gladys Y (Abel) Welch, two younger brothers, Donald Bruce Abel, and Kenneth Colin (Abel) Ardell.
Note: Most of Joe's family followed him to the Northwest also changing their family name Abel to Ardell. His brother Don Abel kept his birth name and settled in Juneau Alaska.
5/17/2023: #49946213 removed Abel from middle name field, added to maiden name field. Joseph was born with the last name Abel and changed it to Ardell per contributor above.
