She was born September 11, 1935 in Fort Smith to the late William and Theresa Carter.
She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Black; and a son, Jerry Black.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie Carson and Lynn Wilson, both of Rudy; a son, Billy Black of North Carolina; two sisters, Naomi Thompson and Carolyn Varner, both of Roland; a brother, Charles Carter of Arkoma; seven grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Rudy Community Center.
