Death Claims Tom Sexson

Tom Sexson, 38, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Mark Sexson of the Aldridge Hotel, died Thursday night at Bakersfield, Calif., where he had been employed with the Southern Pacific Railroad. Mr. Sexson enlisted in the U. S. Navy last October, being stationed at San Diego, Calif., and was honorably discharged last month. He immediately entered the signal department of the railroad being assigned to duty at Bakersfield headquarters. Mr. Sexson died suddenly. The day before he died he had talked long distance to his parents, here and was in good health and cheerful mood. He was born in Cripple Creek, Colo., on May 20, 1905. A graduate of McAlester High School, class of 1922, Mr. Sexson also was graduated from William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo. He was a thirty-second degree Mason. Survivors, besides the parents, are two aunts, Mrs. Frank Foster of Woodward, Okla. and Mrs. Howell Doty of Smithville, Mo., and an uncle, C. H. Sexson of Stockton, Mo. The body is being returned to McAlester for funeral services and burial. Arrangements will be announce later by Chaney Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements for Thomas E. Sexson, 39, former McAlesterite who died in Bakersfield, Calif., Thursday night, will be held at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the First Christian Church. Rev. J. B. France will be in charge of services assisted by Envoy Fred Goddard of the Salvation Army. Miss Florence Ambrose will be in charge of music. Burial will be in the Masonic section of Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of Chaney Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Al Reeves, Gould Bryan, Elmer Hale, A. B. Ringland, George Brown, W. E. Hailey, John Leibrand, and Charles Baumert.
