Kenneth was the son of immigrants, the late Alfred and Betsey Abrahams. He got his first business experience at his father's corner grocery in Chicopee Falls, MA, and went on to become a leading supermarket executive. He was a Chicopee High School graduate of 1947 and earned a degree in personnel management from American International College in Springfield in 1951. He married his childhood sweetheart, Rosalie Saffer—they first met in kindergarten—and together they found their way to San Louis Obispo, CA, where Ken served in the United States Army's Adjutant General's Corps from 1951 to 1953. They then moved to Springfield, MA. He joined the supermarket in 1954 as Director of Personnel for its two stores. By 1969, he was President of Waldbaum's Food Mart, overseeing its 45 stores throughout Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie; his beloved sister, Janice Reisman; his three devoted children, Beth Abrahams Cyr and her husband Bryan Coombs of Acton, MA, Lynn Abrahams and her husband Rob Bertsche of Needham, MA, and Mark Abrahams and his husband Scott Wechsler of New York City. The funeral was April 1st at Congregation B'nai Torah with burial in Kodimoh Cemetery.
