Robert Edward "Eddy" Burnett was a school teacher and principal. He graduated from Union College in Knox County, KY. He taught at many schools and finished out his career in Freeburn, KY schools. Some of his siblings were also teachers. He was known for being a strict teacher and principal who held education in high esteem and had little patience for those who didn't study and work hard.
Eddy was keenly interested in politics and was well read. He sang and taught singing classes. Several members of the family also sang and played guitar. He had a good sense of humor and loved a good joke or prank.
He and Myrtle had 6 children, Wilma Moberly, Leora Chadwell, Lowell Burnett, Jewel Rollyson, Robert Malcom "Mack" Burnett, and Ina Jean Ferrell. Ina Jean took care of Myrtle and Eddy in their elder years.
