On January 6, 1959, she was born in Hammond, Indiana to Edwin and Sarah (Ooms) DeVries. Kathy graduated from Lowell High School. She had lived in various towns including Lowell, Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Warsaw and Silver Lake. Kathy worked as a Q.M.A. /C.N.A. for Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester and she was a member of Harvest Community Church, Pierceton.
She is survived by four children, Sadie Crabb, Silver Lake, David (and spouse Amber) McElroy, Warsaw, James (and spouse Brittany) McElroy, Argos and Franklin Bright, Silver Lake; her companion, Mitch Zon, Silver Lake; her sister, Shirley Quesbarth, Eckerty and six grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dennis DeVries, Bob DeVries, James DeVries and three nephews.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, April 3, 2015 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Lee Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Lowell Memorial Cemetery, Lowell, Indiana at 1:30 pm EST/12:30 pm CST.
Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the funeral chapel.
