Jesse W. Russell

Jesse W. Russell, 84, who for many years was a well known truck farmer in Chester County and husband of Mary Miles Russell, died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Kimble, West Chester RD 3.

Russell was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Hampton Russell. During his life time, he was a truck farmer in Chester County and in Maryland. He was also a checker enthusiast an competed in many a checker tournament in both Chester county and Wilmington, Del., until the early 1940's.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son and five daughters: Joseph, Waymart, Pa.; Mrs. Pearl Carey, Cochranville; Mrs. Ruth Wagner, Morgantown; Mrs. Grace Kimble, with whom he resided; Mrs. Mildred Bates and Mrs. Laura Rodenboh, all of West Chester.

Also surviving is a brother, Harry Russell and a sister, Mrs. Florence Crossland, both of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, William and Mark and a daughter, Mrs. Fayette Frank, are deceased.

RUSSELL- In East Goshen Township, on November 27, 1960, Jesse W., husband of Mary S. Russell, in the 85th year of his age.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral fro the Hicks Funeral Home, 229 S. High St., West Chester, on Wednesday, November 30th, at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.
