She died in Butler County, Connoquenessing Township, Pennsylvania. The township was named for a beautiful Creek which flows through northeastern Beaver County and enters the Beaver River just at the Beaver-Lawrence County line. Its name, Connoquenessing may have been derived from the Indian word "Gunachquenessink" which means "for a long way straight". Another source suggests that it may have been named for an Indian chief named Conoquieson. George Washington recorded crossing the Connoquenessing Creek in 1753, at a place called "Murdering Town". In 1947, the Reader's Digest listed Connoquenessing as one of the ten most beautiful place names in America.
