Ernest Marbaker was born on December 6, 1872 at Clapper Hill, Pa. He married Ada Persons on June 20, 1897. They had 3 children: Monti, Richard, and Charles.
Ernest worked on the farm for a time, then worked for the State Highway Dept in Virginia building roads etc. He lost his right leg and left foot in an accident involving a runaway truck near Alexander, Va. He died July 5, 1958 at the age of 85 years 6 months and 29 days. He is buried at Independent Hill in Virginia. Ada died April 24, 1961.
