Clarence Wangerin was born April 14, 1923 at Rolla, North Dakota, the son of Louis and Frieda E. (Krebs) Wangerin. He was raised on the family farm which he worked along with his father. When his parents purchased a farm at Garfield, Clarence accompanied them there. After their deaths he continued to work the farm alone. since 1996 he has been a resident of Terrance Heights Home in Osakis. He died there January 5, 1999 at the age of 75. Clarence is survived by two brothers, Warren Wangerin of Pensacola, FL and Marvin Wangerin of Los Angeles, CA.
A funeral service was held at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria on January 9, 1999 with Reverend Wade Meyer officiating. Serving as pallbearers at the interment in Kinkead Cemetery were Douglas Kloehn, Melvin Ost, Gary Ellis, Warren Wangerin and Marvin Wangerin.
