Irene Brewer Warden, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend of many, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2006, at the age of 91. She was an inspiration to everyone she met, and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, graciousness and thoughtfulness.

The daughter of Robert McDonald Brewer and Maggie Belle Scivalley, she was preceded in death by her husband, Collie Elvin Warden, and their beloved daughter Joyce Virginia (Jenny) Horton. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: William Emerson Brewer of Huntsville; Grayson Maroney of Anchorage, Alaska; Cleveland Williams of New Market; and Lily George of Huntland, Tennessee.

Ms. Warden is survived by her grandsons: John Orta (Gigi) of Piedmont, California, and Scott Horton (Carol) of Phoenix, Arizona; and three adoring great-grandchildren, Sam, Lily, and Deven.

She is also survived by seven sisters and one brother: Ortha Cobb of Huntsville; Dortha Courtney of Huntsville; Mae Tydeman of Loomis, California; Pauline Cobb of Meridianville; Hazeltine Wright of New Market; Euna Bullington of New Market; Aelise Cowart of Huntsville; and Curtis Williams of Fayetteville, Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday April 13, 2006 at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday April 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at the Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, and burial at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
