Arthur F Gary and his twin sister, Elizabeth, were born in 1822 in Lowndes County, Georgia, to Arthur M Gary and Elizabeth Ponder. Arthur served in Company A, Woods Cavalry during the Civil War. He married Ann Charlton Hines in 1865. Their sons were Milton and George Arthur Gary. Arthur F Gary died in 1873, aged 51, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and was buried at Glenwood Cemetery.
