Orbiae E. Pitts was born March 21, 1927 to William Martin and Dura B. Pitts in Milfay, Oklahoma. He departed this life March 23, 2015 at the age of 88 years and 2 days.

He served his country in the United States Army Air Force from 1945 to 1946 and earned the Victory Medal and Carbine Marksman Medal. On November 18, 1950 Orbiae Pitts and Helen Louise Day were united in marriage. Orbiae had many work experiences in his life including Oilfield work, shop machinist, owner of Arrow “P” pump repair, cattle rancher and carpenter.

He was a member of the Bristow First Assembly of God Church and the Masonic Lodge #226 . He enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting with friends and most of all spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and had a genuine passion for people.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Helen Louise Pitts of the Bristow home; three children, Janet Meyer of Kellyville, Kathy VanDeventer and husband Rick of Skedee, Oklahoma and Alan Pitts and wife Deanna of Tulsa; three sisters, Virginia Bowman and husband Arthur of Sapulpa, Sherry Sherwood and husband Joe of Sapulpa, Lavene Nunnally and husband Amos of Norman; twelve grandchildren, Shawn Ashley, John Inman, Chad Inman, Clinton Garton II, Brittney Buck, Haylee VanDeventer, Rustyn VanDeventer, Ericka VanDeventer, Alicia Pitts, Kaylan Pitts, Madison Pitts and Candace Pitts; fourteen great grandchildren, Mikayla Mecias, Judah Ashley, Benjamin Ashley, Bella Ashley, Loren Inman, Anastin Inman, Bryce Inman, Jace Inman, Tristen Evans, Clinton Garton III, Fields Garton, Brianna Pitts, Jaylen Pitts, Emily Rose Pitts. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dwight Pitts and one daughter, Marilyn Carroll, brother Toy Pitts, four sisters, Dorothy Whetstone, Winnie Harding, Darlene Bond and Delsia Weltzhemier, one grandson, Joshua Pitts and one great grand daughter, Danielle Ashley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, March 27, 2015 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Sampley, Reverend Gene Jackson and Reverend Mark Evans officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery near Mannford, Oklahoma.
