March 17, 1917 - March 24, 2015

Bertha Gaisbauer Turner went to be with her Angels the 24th of March 2015. Born on March 17, 1917, Bertha turned 98 years old on St. Patrick’s Day.

She was a long time member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and a former member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and also a member of the Christian Mothers Sodality at St. Edward’s.

Bertha was a seamstress at the Tuf-Nut Garment factory for 37 years and worked at Teletype Corp. for 7 years. As a member of the American Business Women’s Association, she loved to attend their meetings.

She was always active and her family said that her feet were never still. She loved to dance in her younger days, and she would readily demonstrate her favorite dance, the Charleston, whenever asked. She brought great joy to her family and especially her grandchildren. Bertha loved everyone and never spoke poorly of anyone. She truly was an inspiration to us all.

Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her first husband Claude R. Aldridge and her second husband Cecil J. Turner, daughter Claudine and husband Jim Hendry, daughter Patricia and husband John Iannaci, granddaughters Sandra, Linda and Lisa and grandson John.

She is survived by son Thomas A. Aldridge and his wife June, son Richard E. Turner, and daughter Cecilia J. and her husband Will McFarlin III. She had 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Her nephews John Schlereth, Vincent Schlereth, Colton Bingham, Blake Bingham and grandsons Will McFarlin IV and Kevin McFarlin will participate as pallbearers in the funeral.

The family expresses their appreciation to Sandra Moon for assistance in the care of Mrs. Turner during her final days.

A rosary will be held at 4pm on the 27th of March at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Little Rock, AR.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church on the 28th of March.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
