Jones was born November 29, 1851, near this city and resided here until the time of her death, January 1, 1906. She is survived by her husband, her son, Ora, four sisters and four brothers. Deceased was aged 54 years, 1 month and 3 days. Her father died April 20, 1905, in the 77th year of his age, her mother having preceded him to the other shore a few years.

Her lifelong residence in Centerville had endeared Mrs. Jones to a multitude of friends and acquaintances and universal sorrow is caused by her death. She was for many years more or less of an invalid but bad borne her troubles with Christian fortitude and patience. Her last illness extended over two weeks and her death at 12:10 o'clock yesterday was due to nervous exhaustion and heart trouble. Mrs. Jones united with the M. E. church when only thirteen years of age and continued inconstant and faithful membership with that organization.

Miss Martha Ermina Spooner was married in this city to George W. Jones, Sept. 22, 1870, and three children were born as the result of this union, the oldest and youngest of which are dead.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, but the hour and place have not been definitely fixed awaiting word from relatives who are expected here to attend the services. Should these relatives arrive by Wednesday night the services will probably be held Thursday morning. Mrs. Jones' brother, Benjamin Spooner, of Farragut, and Mr. Jones' brother, W. A. Jones of Lacona are expected.
