He was a poultry farmer, and a member of the Cleveland County Poultry Council. Lee was inducted into the Cleveland County Poultry Council Hall of Fame in 1999.
He was a longtime member of the Bethware Progressive Club.
Lee retired as a charter member of the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as deacon, former treasurer, teacher and on many other committees.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
