Dora Lea (Morgan) Calkins, age 90, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away at home on March 23, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack K. Calkins of Lebanon, MO. Dora Lea was the last of ten children, born in Liberal, MO. on Oct. 22, 1924 to Ira and Dorothy Morgan. She leaves behind her daughter Marilyn. Dora Lea and Jack were active members of Armour Heights Baptist Church for 40+ years, and involved in committees, missions, youth programs, and funding. Dora Lea and Jack extended themselves to all who needed assistance – whether money, a place to live, an open door to family gatherings. Often their daughter brought home friends in need of a home, and made them part of their family. Dora Lea missed the consolation of friends and family members during the later stages of her illness. There will be no public services. Many thanks and love to Patty, Sharon, Rose, and Grace Hospice with their care and support. Donations can be made to animal rescue or to Grace Hospice. (Arr. Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr. Shawnee KS; 913-631- 5566) The Amos Family Funeral Home, Crematory, Chapels. 913-631-5566 amosfamily.com
