Beatrice J. Houghton , 84, Englewood, died April 15, 1998.
She was born May 22, 1913, on Cayo Costa Island and came to Englewood 35 years ago from Boca Grande. She retired as a pastry chef from the Manasota Beach Club Resort in Englewood. She was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley; two sisters, Junita Progris of Miami and Nell Khul of Boca Grande; and a brother, Perry Padilla of Boca Grande.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, with the service to follow, at Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Englewood Chapel. Burial will be in Sarasota Memorial Park.
