He was dead on arrival at a local hospital Sunday morning.
Born at Whitesville Jan. 19, 1921, he was a son of Asa Ray Jarrell of Naoma, and the late Myrtle Webb Jarrell.
A lifelong resident of Raleigh County, he was a former coal miner.
Other survivors include two brothers, Billy of Pine Knob, and Howard of Beckley; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Pettry of Cleveland, Ohio.
The body will remain at the Melton Mortuary where friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today.
