Professional Sports Team Owner. From 1973 until 1975, he was the proprietor and served as president of the Atlanta Braves. Following service with the United States Navy during World War II, he received a law degree from Dartmouth College. During his tenure as Braves' owner, Hank Aaron surpassed Babe Ruth as the all time, career home run leader. In 1976, he sold the franchise to millionaire tycoon Ted Turner.
