Charlotte Mildred Anderson departed this life on March 23, 2015 at Porter Hospital at the age of 88 years. She first saw daylight on Christmas Eve, 1926, in Milwaukee Wisconsin as the daughter of Gustave J. Jeske Jr. and Agnes Jeske. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Marcus Lutheran Church where she also completed her first 8 years of school before attending and graduating from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. Her degree was attained at Valparaiso University where she met Malcolm Anderson whom she married at St. Marcus on October 14, 1951. Her sister, Doris, and her brother, Gustave III and her Parents all preceded her into Eternity.
She left her husband and two sons, Eric of Chesterton and Douglas (Mary) of Valparaiso and her niece, Nancy (Gary) Sader of Milwaukee, as well as her grandchildren, Thomas (Mary) Gaines of LaPorte, Suzanne (Timothy) Goheen of LaPorte and 5 great grandchildren.
She had numerous interests and activities among which were being Sunday school teacher at Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years, helping organize the local Christian Women’s Club, being involved in the Chesterton Women’s Club, being in several other clubs, being a real estate broker, was active in the Community Concerts Association and always being involved in many other activities. She liked the vacations in Canada that her family had each summer for many years. She also had several trips to Europe when she was still able to travel.
Her current membership is St. Paul Lutheran Church of Chesterton where her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Erich Fickel officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 E. 1100 N., Chesterton, IN 46304 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
