Shirley E. Stains, 95, formerly of Yeagertown, died at 11:06 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Valley View, Belleville.Born July 18, 1919, in Yeagertown, she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Olive E. (Austin) Albright.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Clifford L. Stains, on Dec. 29, 2003; her son, Thomas A. Stains on Nov. 17, 2004; and a half brother, Ralph Albright.Shirley is survived by: a son, Brian Stains, of Fairfield, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Stains Player and husband, Robert, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a grandson, Clifford I. Stains and wife, Marilyne, of Lincoln, Neb.
She was a graduate of Yeagertown High School.Shirley was a member of Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church.She was an avid gardener and cook and was active in her church.A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Tundel officiating.Interment will take place in Vira Methodist Cemetery, Lewistown.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley's name may be made to Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 132 N. Main St., Yeagertown, PA 17099 or to Valley View Haven, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham.
