Russell Sheppard Boguskie Jr was born on July 23, 1933, and he was the son of Russell Sheppard Boguskie Sr (1910–1971) and his wife Mary Alice (Riley) Boguskie (1904–1992).

He was married in July 1959 to Sue Mae Moss, the daughter of Thomas Jackson Moss.

Russell was a US Army veteran and a retired Regional Traffic Engineer for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Living in Madison, Davidson County, Tennessee, he was 81 years old when he passed away on March 23, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard Allen Boguskie , Marvin King Boguskie and Charles Bernard Boguskie, and by sisters Martha Jean Boguskie Bell and Delores Raphael Boguskie Green. Survivors included his widow, a married son, a daughter, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother and four sisters.

Funeral Mass was held at Assumption Catholic Church, and burial with Military Honors was in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
