L J LaFrieniere is Auto Victim
Louis J LaFrieniere, 72, of 1208 South First Avenue, became Maywood's first traffic victim of 1951 when he died in Westlake Hospital Saturday night of shock and internal injuries suffered when he was struck by a car on First Avenue in front of his home earlier in the evening.
Mr. LaFrieniere was apparently crossing from the west to the east side of First Avenue when he was struck. John Charles Dreher, 33, of Brookfield was the driver of the car, according to police. A charge of reckless homicide has been lodged against Mr. Dreher.
Funeral services for Mr. LaFrieniere were conducted yesterday from St James Catholic Church. The Rev Charles L Wallace said mass. Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In addition to his widow, Mary nee Dagel, Mr. LaFrieniere is survived by eleven children; Albert, Harold, Grace, Kenneth, Dorothy, Donald, Robert, Richard, James, Edward and Eleanor.
