Death of C. A. Thornburg.
Typhoid fever has claimed another victim in the death of Mr. Thornburg, which occurred last week. For a long time he has been in feeble health, and had not the strength to withstand the inroads of the terrible disease. He was one of our best and well known citizens. He was born June 15, 1832, His wife and four children survive him. The latter are Bert, Earl, Minnie and Jessie. The funeral services were held at his late home, Friday afternoon.

In Memoriam.
At a meeting of Buckeye Lodge No. 17 A. O. U. W., on last Wednesday night, a committee was appointed to prepare a suitable paper expressing the sentiment of the Lodge in regard to the death of C. A. Thornburg. The following paper was prepared, which was unanimously adopted by the Lodge and a copy ordered to be furnished the
family of the deceased. The request was also made that it be printed the Hillsboro papers:
C. A. Thornburg was born June 15, 1832, in Washington county, Pa., and died at his home in Hillsboro, Ohio, December 19, 1894, in the 63d year of his life., A residence of more than 50 years in this place, and for a good many years a Eartner in the Enterprise Mill, had made him, as carpenter and builder and public-spirited citizen, familiar to all our people. Standing at the head of his craft, he was skillful, industrious and obliging. As a citizen he was exemplary faithful to every duty. He leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and father. Such a rupture in an ideal home is always sad in its contemplation, ana too often
melancholy in its consequences. These "short afflictions" in the great drama , ordered in wisdom, should be borne without inordinate sorrow, or a surrender of that courage necessary to the rest of the battle. It was as a member of Buckeye Lodge No. 17 A. O. U. W., that the deceased attached himself to us, with a feeling akin to that of brotherly affection. Entering the order at its organization a charter member on February 13, 1874, he continued faithful until death. He was zealous for the best interests of the order, and was always present at its meetings, when his health permitted. He was indulgent but just in his interpretations of the rules; wise in counsel, a faithful and good brother. Our hearts go out in loving sympathy
for the bereaved family. With them we bow reverently, submissively, in this bereavement and sore affliction, to the will and wisdom of the Great Master
Workman.
