Funeral services for William G. (Billie) Blount of 3527 Cornelia St. will be today at 3 p.m. in the Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel, with Rev. E.M. Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.

Mr. Blount died Monday at 4 a.m. following a lengthy illness.

He was born Oct. 1, 1895 at Abbott but lived in Hillsboro until 1917 when he enlisted in the Army. He was the son of Jacob Tennessee Blount and Maggie Tarver Blount.

He married Anabel Alford of Daingerfield December 19, 1919. She preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1945. Mr. Blount married Ina Williams Miller of Greenville Feb. 5, 1949.

A resident of Greenville for 20 years, He was owner of Blount Garage for many years and was Hunt County Tax Collector from 1949-1952, at which time he became associated with Mrs. Blount in the insurance business. At the time of his retirement he was building manager for Henson-Kickernick.

A veteran of World War I, he was active in the American Legion having served as post commander, first division commander and vice department commander.

He was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Masonic lodge.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Ritter Holder of Lovington, N.M.; one step-son, Joe Miller of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Womack of Dallas; one brother, R.E. Blount of New Braunfels; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be George Betts, LeRoy Brigman, J.B. Briscoe, Verner Denman, Raymond Gray and David Terry.

Luton Henson and Robert Henson will be honorary pallbearers.
