Funeral services for Mary E. Thomas, 88, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 9, 2002, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Laurance Blackstock officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the China Creek Cemetery in San Saba County under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Thomas died Sunday, Jan. 6 at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

She was born in San Saba to the late William and Martha Elmore. She married Homer Borden Aylor in 1931 in San Saba. He preceded her in death in 1950. She then married Robert Thomas in 1962. She was a retired sales person for Harry’s Department Store in San Saba. She moved to Brownwood in 1985, formerly of San Saba. She was a member of Christ Chapel in Brownwood and a charter member of the San Saba Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include daughter Glorial and husband Jerry Singleton of Brownwood; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands and her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Christ Chapel Building Fund in Brownwood.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
