Son of Dr. Elisah and Hannah (Hinckley) Huntington. He was baptized at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell, MA, on Mar. 11, 1827.

1st married Ellen Sophronia Whipple. They filed the intention of marriage in Exeter, NH, on May 4, 1848. They then wed in Lowell, MA, on June 30, 1848.

2nd married Louisa W. Dana. They wed in Lawrence, MA, on July 17, 1873.

Civil War Veteran
Enlisted on 10/4/1861 as a Captain.
On 11/7/1861 he mustered into "Batty H" Co. OH 1st Light Artillery
He Resigned on 10/27/1863

He commanded an artillery brigade at Gettysburg. Capt. Co. I Sixth Veteran Reserve Corps. He was stationed at Johnson's Island.
