Jacob H. Friet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Friet of Spruce Hill, was born in said township on the 8th of March 1882, and died at his residence on Main street north on Monday Sept. 25, 1916, aged 34 years, 6 months and 17 days. He was a carpenter by trade, and has lived all his life in this county. His father died when he was a mere lad. He was a quiet, industrious worker giving the best of satisfaction to those for whom he worked. He was married to Miss Ida Fritz of Carlos, Nov. 21, 1906, of which union one child, Edwin Leonard, was born. In his early demise he leaves to mourn his wife and child, his mother in Parkers Prairie, five brothers, namely Thomas of Omaha, Joe, John, James and Frederick of Parkers Prairie, and two sisters, Mrs. Orla Sweet of Alexandria, and Mrs. Chrisana Smith of Alberta, Canada.
He was a member of the Knights of Security and the Domestic Workers. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the residence of the deceased, and were conducted by the Rev. Geo. E. Tindall, after which burial was made in Kinkead.
