Mrs. E. M. Flint was born in Orleans county, Vermont, April 13, 1832. At the age of ten years she moved with her parents to Pennsylvania where the family lived about five years and then went to Galena, Ill., where she was married to Major flint on December 30, 1848. The three older children, Albert, Mrs. S. D. Peck and Mrs. E. S. Thompson, were born there. The family moved to Minnesota in 1856 and to Douglas county in 1867, settling in Leaf Valley where they lived until after Mr. Flint's death shortly after which they moved to Alexandria where Mrs. Flint lived until her death.
The deceased had not been strong for some time and when she contracted pneumonia was unable to recover from the disease. Death came last Wednesday night. The funeral was held from the house Saturday morning, Rev. W. J. Paske officiating and the interment was in Kinkead cemetery.
The surviving children are Albert and Mrs. S. D. Peck of Leaf Valley; Mrs. E. Thompson of Badger, Minn.; Elvira and Frank of Alexandria.
The Flint family was among the oldest and best known in the northern part of the county. The members were prominent socially and the daughters were for years among the leading teachers of the county. Mrs. Flint's death will be a loss not only to her family but to the village.
