Daughter of Andres and Astri (Johnson) Knutson. The parents married in Norway and immigrated in 1860 to Ettrick. He farmed on their homestead until his death 7 June 1891. His wife died 12 May 1895.

Margit married Sever Syse Knutson. They were married in the same church he had been confirmed, married on May 20, 1898 by the Rev. Ole Gulbrandson.

The wedding reception was held at the farm home where they resided the following 41 years. In 1939 they retired and moved to Hegg, where Mrs. Knutson passed away a year later.

In 1943, Mr. Knutson moved to Blair where he has since resided. He was a lifelong member of the Faith North Beaver Creek Lutheran church and served for a number of years as chairman of the board of trustees. He had been in failing health for the past year and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on July 5th from which he did not recover.

He is survived by the following children:
1. Ida (Mrs Lawrence Holven) Blair;
2. Ester, (Mrs. Einor Anderson), Westby;
3. Jennie, at home;
4. Ernie and
5. Selmer on the home farm and
6. Bessie (Mrs. Elton Tjerstad) Beaver Creek.
