MARY H. HAMILTON

Mrs. Mary H. Hamilton, 81, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the Community Hospital in Indianapolis. She had been in failing health the past year and seriously ill the past month.

Mrs. Hamilton had been a resident at 231 West North for the past 19 years and prior to that she lived on East Central, and had lived all her life in Decatur County.

She was born Dec. 22, 1897 in Letts, the daughter of John Marshall and Sarah Davis Harrell. She belonged to the Greensburg United Methodist Church, the DAR, and the Historical Society. She was married to Lavelle Hamilton Aug. 20, 1916, in Decatur County and he preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1959.

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Roy (Helen) Wells, Greensburg and Mrs. Bert (Elizabeth) Bishop, Bradenton, Fla.; two sons: Harrell W. Hamilton, Indianapolis and Lewis B. Hamilton, Greensburg; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Nellie Wright, Wilkinson and Mrs. Elizabeth Boicourt, Greensburg.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rowena Shafer and Eva Kiem; two brothers, Brent and Carl Harrell and two brothers who died in infancy, George and Herschel Harrell.

The services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Chattin, pastor of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, officiating, and with burial in the South Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
