Fair Play, SC - On March 18, 2015, the angels came and took Johnnie Verena Burden Apinis to be with her Heavenly Father.
Born August 31, 1926 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Hester Moses and Eliza Victor Dove Burden. She attended Anderson College. Mrs. Apinis was a homemaker and former Antique dealer. She was a former resident of Raleigh, NC and while living there was a member of the Wake Forest Woman's Club and Garden Club. She and her husband enjoyed antiques and traveling. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson.
She is survived by her husband, John Apinis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Winona Newton and Ernestine Westbrook.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at New Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by her nephew, Rev. Bryan Apinis. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Sullivan-King Mortuary and Crematory - Northeast Chapel
