Mary Jo Balam, of Marysville, WA, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2010. She was born to Dorothy and William Howard Sr. in Everett, WA on December 8, 1927 and graduated from Everett High. She lived in Marysville for most of her life and was a grocery checker there for many years. She then changed careers and became the owner/operator of the Greenware Inn ceramic shop for many more years before she retired. She was a very active and caring person and enjoyed her many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Edwin; brother, William Howard, Jr.; and her great-grandson, Cainon Balam.
She is survived by her sons, Gerald (Suzanne) Douglas and Terrell; grandchildren, Daniel (Erin) Balam, Jeffrey (Diane) Balam, Kristina Balam, Sarah Balam Brandy (Will) Kramer, Tucker (Wendy) Balam and Cameron Jackson; and many great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her surviving brothers, John (Nancy)and Robert Howard; and nieces and nephews. Others who will miss her include her dear friend and confidant, Mrs. Peggy Baker, Lisa (Jerry) James and Lori (Richard) Kristjanson and their children and grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.
Following private interment, a memorial service and potluck celebration of her life will be held at her home of 54 years, at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 5.
