Violent Deaths Claim Four Lives in County
".......In the county's 2nd fatality, Greenhill was struck by a car in the 1000 block on Baker St. Saturday, police say. The 85-year-old man died at Kern General Hospital at 12:30 p.m., 2 hours after the accident.
Driver of the car which struck the elderly pedestrian, Vernon Cook, Jr., at Route 6 Box 497 R, was not held or cited, investigating officers said. The report indicates Greenhill was jay-walking in the middle of the block when he was struck."

Greenhill, William Isaac - Funeral services will be held Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Hopson Mortuary for W. I. Greenhill, 85, pedestrian fatality who died Oct. 6. A retired carpenter, he had resided here for 50 years. He resided at 1020 King St. at time of death. He leaves a daughter Mrs. Zora
Pounds and 5 grandchildren all of Gardena. The Reverend Claude Downs will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
