He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; an infant son, Brett Alan; his mother and father; four brothers, John, Donald, Bill, and Everett; and two sisters, Louise Saker and Luella Brooks Martin.

On Wednesday, March 18, Richard Dale Hall passed from this life into eternal fellowship with the Heavenly Father. He was born June 3, 1922, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Omer J. Hall and Grace Amelia (Seaman) Hall.

A life-long resident of rural Bourbon County west of Fort Scott, he attended Bethel Grade School and graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1940.

Oct. 14, 1945, Richard was united in marriage with Helen Marie (Moyer) at Girard, Kan. To this union, eight children were born: sons Jerry Richard, Rex Dale, Brett Alan, Herbert William, and Damon Matthew and daughters Loretta Marie, Rhonda Lea, and Michelle Luann. There are 14 grandchildren: Nicole Hall, Angela Hall, Leasha Galvis, Tammy Cassell, Troy Arnold, Trenton Arnold, Caleb Deck, Tyana Maiseroulle, Katie Hall, Matthew Long, Kristen Long, Ryan Long, Colby Hall, and TJ Hall, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Richard was a farmer and rancher. He was also employed with Peerless Products of Fort Scott, retiring after 27 years of employment. In addition, he was employed for over 55 years with the Fort Scott Sale Barn Company. After retirement from Peerless, he worked a circuit of other area cattle sales, including Paola, Gas City, and Chanute. He had served as a school board member.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; an infant son, Brett Alan; his mother and father; four brothers, John, Donald, Bill, and Everett; and two sisters, Louise Saker and Luella Brooks Martin. Those left in passing are son Jerry (wife Alice) of Decatur, Ind., daughter Loretta Arnold (husband Dale) of Fort Scott, daughter Rhonda Deck (husband Mike) of Pittsburg, Kan., son Rex (wife Karen) of Fort Scott, daughter Michelle Long of Pittsburg, Kan., son Herbert of Fort Scott, and son Damon (wife Jill) of Lamar, Mo., as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members and many friends.

Pastor Greg Stine will conduct funeral services 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at the Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday March 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Community Church or Care to Share and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, PO Box 309, Fort Scott, KS, 66701.
