Dorothy Lorene Williamson was born August 5, 1915 in Columbus, Kansas to Hugh and Ivey Elizabeth Orr. She passed away August 11, 2007 at Amarillo, Texas at the age of 92 years and 6 days. Lorene grew up on a farm near Mountain Park, OK and later graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK. She was married to Floy Williamson at Olustee, OK on May 26, 1939. She taught English at Erick Schools for several years before working at the Amarillo Air Force Base as a secretary for nine years. She and Floy later owned and operated the Trail Motel in Amarillo, Texas. Lorene loved to crochet and knit, winning 2nd place in a contest that involved other nursing home and assisted living residents in the state of Texas for her crocheted table cloth. She loved to watch Jeopardy and could beat almost anyone at Trivial Pursuit. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floy and 1 brother. Donald Orr. She is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly Reed, Fletcher, OK, Gayle Allen & husband, Gary, Amarillo, TX; 3 sons, Don Williamson & wife, Beverly, Huntsville, AL, Ken Williamson & wife, Debbie, Amarillo, TX, Edwin Williamson, Scotts Valley, CA; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives & friends.
