Bernard F. "Bernie" Zessin, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County.
Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Trivoli to Ernest and Ella Schubert Zessin, he married Alberta Wilson on Dec. 27, 1973, in Pekin. She died Nov. 16, 1990, in Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Greg (and Deeann) and Kent (and Lisa); one daughter, Cheryle (and Michael) Gleason; three stepsons, John Krohn, Dennis Krohn, and Eric Krohn; one stepdaughter, Deborah Krohn; one brother, Harold; and one sister, Martha Morby.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
A member of the Laborers Union, he worked for Langton Construction in Peoria.
Interment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
